Concentric Circles

Kazuo Yoshizawa's works are unique creations that combine traditional Nihonga materials with a highly distinctive artistic process. Using precious natural mineral pigments together with genuine gold and silver leaf, he builds multiple layers of color before carving and cutting back the painted surface to reveal unexpected depth, texture, and luminosity. A defining characteristic of his art is its powerful tactile quality. Colors appear to glow from within layered surfaces, while incised lines and traces of removal create a rhythmic sense of movement and time.
